PARTCIPATION FORMAT

• Choose any of the vintage themes – Victorian, Temple or Japanesque – as your inspiration
• Your piece should be a modern interpretation of the vintage technique you have chosen – it must showcase elements of the style era you’ve selected and also present your innovative spin on the old aesthetic. Refashioning and reinventing are your keywords
• After you’ve picked your vintage era, choose from any of the below 3 categories to present your piece. These are jewels that have captured the trend space but are also versatile when wearing
• 1. Brooches OR hair jewels
• 2. Single OR mismatched earrings
• 3. Single OR multiple Charms – that could be hooked on to bracelets or chains

PARTICIPATION CRITERIA

Entry open to : a) Individuals b) Individuals partnering with a company (both the individual & the company get the credit)

• Entry to the competition is free
• Designer's name to be mentioned first, followed by the partnering company
• An individual can submit one sketch each in a maximum of two categories
• An Individual can submit two entries each
• All designs to ensure that the final product be under five carats
• Only wearable ornaments. No accessories
• No synthetics and CZ
• Any pieces found to be submitted for any other jewellery design competition will be disqualified immediately
• No religious symbols are permitted

FAQs

1) Who can participate in The Artisan - Jewellery Design Awards 2021?
A. Entry is open to an individual & individual partnering with a company. No company will be allowed to participate without an individual. Both individual & the company will get due recognition

2) What is the qualification required for participation?
A. No prerequisite qualification is mandatory

3) Can designers from other industries participate?
A. Yes. This competition is open to designers from all industries

4) Can foreign nationals/NRI's participate?
A. Yes. Foreign nationals/NRI's are allowed to participate

5) Is there an age limit to participate?
A. Any individual from the age group of 18 years and above can participate

6) How many sketches/entries can I submit?
A. An individual can submit a maximum of 1 sketch under any one category & a company can submit 2 sketches in total - under 2 categories (i.e. two individuals can participate per Company)

7) What is the deadline of submitting sketches?
A. The deadline for submitting sketches is 10th November, 2021

9) How should I send the sketches?
A. Your sketch has to be sent to the GJEPC office on or before 10th November 2020, which has to be made on an A4 size sheet mounted on thick card paper. Please do not frame or laminate the sketch.

11) If my sketch get shortlisted but I do not have manufacturing access, will the GJEPC assist me?
A. The council can assist in finding a manufacturer who will fabricate the product on your behalf. This will be a combined effort between designer and manufacturer for fabrication
