Victorian jewellery takes its name from the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901). Our Victorian theme focusses on The Romantic Period of this reign (1837-1860).

DESIGN AND TECHNIQUE

Feminine and ornate patterns,
inspired by Renaissance style.
Detailed enamelling and the use of
three different cuts of stones: rose cut,
old mine cut (resembling the modern round
brilliant cut) and cabochon.

METAL AND STONES

Gold and diamonds. Amethyst,
topaz, ruby, emerald, sapphire,
amber, quartz. Seed pearls,
corals and turquoise for
embellishment.

MOTIFS

Bows, anchors, crosses, clovers, love
knots, vines, wreaths, branches,
shafts of wheat, berries, flowers
(especially roses, lilies, mimosas and
lily of the valley), birds, hearts and
snakes (symbolising eternity).
